As an Air Traffic Controller you will be at the heart of NATS’ business, issuing instructions and information to pilots by radio to keep air traffic flying safely, efficiently and on time. It’s a highly responsible and immensely satisfying role where safety is key.
We’ll expect you to have at least five GCSEs, or equivalent, at grade C or above, including English and Maths and be over the age of 18 on application.

If you’re on a degree course involving a sandwich year or you’re on a gap year since starting university, our structured industrial placements are the ideal opportunity to develop your skills.
Your 12-month placement will begin in July at our Corporate and Technical Centre (CTC) in Whiteley, Hampshire. You’ll get the chance to work on live projects as an integral part of our highly skilled teams. This will give you an invaluable insight into NATS as a business and the aviation industry generally.
The Industrial Placement Schemes are not just in our technical areas such as Engineering and Operational Analysis. Many of our corporate areas such as Supply Chain, Programmes and Marketing also have schemes. In order to be eligible, you need to be on track to achieve a 2:1 in your degree.
