Thanks to online selling sites such as Etsy, not on the high street, eBay and Shopify, emerging parcel delivery companies are changing the postal game – and one, in particular, has been dominating the scene since its inception in 2006.

But how has this relatively new, and relatively small business managed to not only survive, but thrive in a competitive industry? Here we look at the ways that Parcel2Go has moved with the times, to provide their customers with the best service possible.

E-commerce innovation

E-commerce is fast becoming a popular choice for people looking to start a small business in the UK, and Parcel2Go’s Smart Send was specifically designed to meet this need. With the ability for consumers to control their shipping across multiple platforms, and linking to popular selling platforms, Parcel2Go has been able to corner this market.

It’s perhaps the ease of the delivery solution that has also helped. Like anyone trying to start a business, time is of the essence, and with many Post offices around the country closing, or operating with limited opening hours, Smart Send was able to provide a solution for this problem.

Automation innovation

As more and more studies show that we’re feeling time poor Parcel2Go created Auto Send. Their inhouse AI software system learns how individuals like to send their deliveries and will automatically import items from their e-commerce accounts.

And it’s not only the automation of sending, the use of Auto Send payments with PrePay, provides users with a secure automatic payment system, so there’s no need to worry about a delayed delivery because users haven’t paid for the postal service.

iOS innovation

Moving with the times, Parcel2Go recently developed and released an iOS app. Designed to simplify the parcel delivery process, customers can easily compare prices, book couriers and track their domestic and international deliveries, as well as locate drop-off points.

It’s this continued technological innovation, as well as an understanding customers’ needs that continue to drive Parcel2Go’s success.

Partnership innovation

Besides technological innovation, Parcel2Go’s cornerstone of success lies in working with some of the industry’s biggest and best courier services – including UPS, Hermes and Parcelforce. It’s this combination that has meant Parcel2Go is able to provide a range of top-quality service options that are unmatched by any other delivery system.

Partnering up with drop-off points throughout the UK has also meant that Parcel2Go has over 20,000 drop-off locations – once again, helping out the time poor amongst us.

As Parcel2Go celebrates surpassing 60 million orders since 2006, it’s clear that at the core of the business is the customer. It’s this ‘customer first’ approach that has informed many of the innovations that have helped Parcel2Go stand out, as well as continue to grow.
