Is your job making you unhappy

Chances are, you spend most of your waking hours at work. Most people work from 8 to 10 hours per day and sleep for eight hours a day, which only leaves you about six hours to live the rest of your life. Of course, if you are anything like most of us, part of that time is devoted to working at home like taking care of the kids, cooking, cleaning, and other various tasks. So, you really only have a few hours per day to enjoy yourself. The point is, if you are unhappy at work, you are going to be an unhappy person because you spend most of your waking hours there. Therefore, it is important to be happy at your job.

Just to Pay the Bills

While many people are working just to pay the bills no matter what kind of job they have to do, the new trend is to try to do what you love. If your dream job is to run your own company, you need to find a way to do that and if you want to be a freelance writer from home, then that is what you should try to do. Of course, not everyone has the luxury of quitting the nine to five job they do to pay the bills, so we have to start slowly and build our business one day at a time. In the meantime, if you are working at a job that is making you unhappy, we have some tips to help you make it through without losing it.

Talk to Coworkers

First of all, try to figure out why you are unhappy at work. Is it the work you do not like? Is it too difficult to do or just too boring? Do you feel like you are just doing the same thing every day and not getting anywhere? You may need to talk to your manager or supervisor about moving to a different position or maybe you should apply for their job so you can be in charge. Talk to your coworkers and see how they feel. Do they dislike their job too? Maybe there is something that can be done to make your jobs better. If the majority of your coworkers feel like you, there may be a managerial or productivity problem that needs to be addressed.

Compatibility Problems

However, if it is the people you work with that are making you unhappy, try to figure out why. Is there a communication problem there or are you just not compatible with those around you? Maybe you need to be moved to another area of work with different people. If it is just a matter of communication though, try talking to your coworkers and see if there is something you can do to make things better for everyone. After all, nobody wants to be unhappy at work. You spend the majority of your time there so try to make it as pleasant as possible.

Be Happy

Maybe you are just unhappy in general. It could be that you have a mental health issue that needs to be addressed. You may be suffering from depression or an anxiety disorder that is making it difficult for you to interact with others. Talk to someone about it and see what they think. For example, you can contact a therapist or counselor online to talk about your feelings. Of course, you do not have much free time, so online therapy can be a great choice. You do not need an appointment and can do it from home, the office, or wherever you happen to be. All you need is a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer and you can talk to a mental health care professional within minutes. Just reach out and they will be there for you.
