Harrods have got their finger on the ball when it comes to spotting and catering for trends. Working alongside Disney UK, the company are expanding the size of their in-house Disney Store by over a third. The focus of this new space will be dedicated to Marvel Super Heroes.
Torly Grimshawe, general merchandise manager of children’s-wear at Harrods has stated:

“Building on the success of the Boutique, Disney Café and Disney Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, the new space will continue to enhance the magical experience for our customers.”

The space will offer enough for both kids and adults to enjoy, including: a Spider-Man training academy and pinball machine; a screen showcasing Marvel content; brand new Captain America and Incredible Hulk sculptures and, perhaps most excitingly, the suit worn by actor Robert Downey Jr. in the first Iron Man film. The theme of the area will also accommodate for Marvel’s upcoming movie franchise, Guardians of the Galaxy.

Alongside the Marvel area will also be a space dedicated to Star Wars, showcasing characters from the entire saga as well as Star Wars Rebels (an upcoming CGI animated series), generating plenty of interest before the release of episode VII in 2015. (ToyNews, 13th Febryary 2014)
