A year ago, Costas Polycarpou from Polyteck announced that Polyteck would act as developer and main contractor on a new 15-million-pound residential housing scheme in Colindale, North West London.
Despite 2 years of international disruption, supply chain issues, and pandemic challenges, Yiannakis Polycarpou, managing director and owner of Polyteck, has announced that the Bacon Lane Scheme is on track for completion.
23 new private townhouses have been constructed and form part of a gated scheme complete with gardens and secure off-street parking.
The project involved more than 100 design specialists. In addition, it utilized the services of CG Architects for the build, Long and Partners for the mechanical and electrical services, Hamptons for quantity surveying and Goldman Greg for sales.
All parties pulled together to deliver this project to specification on time.
Polyteck – Construction, Maintenance, Security in London
Polyteck was formed in 2005 by Yiannakis Polycarpou after 45 years in the trade. Yiannakis has been developing prime assets for 35 years and is the founder of Polyteck with an annual turnover of 30 million pounds.
Today, he is ably assisted by, amongst others, his highly qualified son George Polycarpou, the CEO of the company. George also founded a successful company called Goldman Greg, a specialist real estate company working with Polyteck as a property agent of choice.
Polyteck currently employs more than 250 employees in the UK and has a second office in Dubai.
It classifies itself as a construction and facilities management organization.
Polyteck currently maintains properties with an asset value of one billion pounds.
In addition, it has a substantial development and regeneration division brimming with highly skilled, friendly, hands-on professionals who believe in teamwork and transparency. Strong, established relationships with a range of sub-contractors have proven invaluable in achieving the goals on time and to required specifications.
The social housing division offers a range of planned and reactive maintenance services to domestic property and commercial buildings in the local authority and social housing sectors.
The goal here is to ensure that properties are well maintained and fit for their purpose. Properties require continual maintenance if they are to retain their value. More than 35 000 houses and several commercial properties are currently being maintained.
The range of facilities management services provided is extensive and covers the following:
- Electrical
- Fire and Safety
- Gas
- HVAC
- Planned building maintenance
- Property maintenance
- Water treatment
- IoT remote monitoring solutions
Another incredible achievement by Polyteck is their simultaneous first phase completion of their Burnt Oak Development, another 15-million-pound sustainable residential development.
In the words of Yiannakis Polycarpou: “We are delighted to have completed the first phase of what was an ambitious project.”
Works on this project included the demolition of existing buildings and the erection of 24 new sustainable dwellings. A range of sustainable measures was utilized during construction, including 100 percent energy-efficient lighting and natural ventilation.
Yiannakis emphasizes this by saying: “This development showcases some of the best techniques used to build modern housing in a sustainable way.”
