Tips to write the best conclusion while writing essays

Writing an essay, paper or thesis is for many students the biggest challenge of their studies. It is often possible to stamp exam material, but write a piece of it yourself. And for those who want to master the art and write essay online and get the conclusion correct the below pointers will be helpful. Read on to know better

  1. Write an outline

The best way to create the structure of an essay is to write an ‘ outline’. An outline is a miniature version of your essay, written in numbered separate sentences or catchwords. An essay always has the basic structure of introduction, body and conclusion.

  1. Closing an essay:

Closing your essay with a bang is perhaps the most important step in achieving a good grade. That is why the conclusion is so important. In the conclusion, you sum up the most important information in your essay. You can conclude the conclusion yourself with a catchy, interesting final sentence. In this article, you will learn how to finish your essay in a fascinating way and thus get a higher score!

  1. Start the conclusion with a small transition (optional):

This may be an indication to the reader that the essay is nearing its end, and that it should, therefore, pay attention. Although many writers introduce their essays with a transition, it is not compulsory. It does not necessarily have to come into view as the end. A transition can be as simple as:

  • “In short, …”
  • “In conclusion …”
  • “From this, we can deduce that …”
  1. Give a brief summary of the most important points:

Try summarizing the most important information from each paragraph in two, three sentences. By repeating it you reinforce the message of your essay and remind the reader again of what that message was again.

Do not summarize the points as in the middle of your essays. The conclusion is there to summarize the final answer to your essay. That is why a few rules are usually sufficient.

  1. Keep it short but powerful:

Your conclusion should be about 5 to 7 sentences long. If it is shorter, it is probably not extensive enough. If it is longer, you are probably running too far. As William Shakespeare put it, “Conciseness is the soul of the mind.”

  1. If you have a hypothesis, state it in the conclusion:

If you have a hypothesis or a proposition, you must refer to this in the conclusion, however briefly. Remember that the hypothesis is the most important point of your essay. If someone still does not know what your position is after reading your conclusion, you have not been clear enough.

Do not try to take your position in the conclusion unthinkingly. Find a way to put it up in other words. If you literally copy the proposition in the conclusion, the reader can get the impression that you are lazy.

  1. Try to sound as authoritative as possible.:

Having a commanding authority means choosing the right words, appealing to sources other than yourself, and trusting your own ability to write.

For example, say “That’s why Abraham Lincoln was the best American president of the nineteenth century,” instead of “That’s why I think Abraham Lincoln was the best American president of the nineteenth century.” Another example: Do not apologize for your convictions. They are your ideas, so embrace them. Never say things like “I am not an expert” or “That’s how I think about it at least.” This weakens your reliability.
