In order to be a productive and profitable lawyer, you need to be an organized one. And, even if organizational skills are something you lack. There are a number of easy ways you can get your life and work on track. To make sure your clients are receiving the best service.

Here are some of the most convenient apps that will keep you as organized as possible

Calendars

As a lawyer, you’re going to spend a lot of time in court, at appointments and meeting with clients, which is why it’s essential you’re managing your time correctly. Having a calendar that’s up to date with all of your arrangements will be necessary for keeping you organized, and it will help to make sure you never miss anything again! Many computers, tablets, and smartphones will come with integrated calendars. Which are great for syncing your emails, contacts, tasks and appointments in one place.

Tasks

Keeping on top of your tasks can be difficult, but when you add numerous meetings into the mix, it can become impossible. That’s why it’s a good idea to have as many apps on hand to help you with your tasks as possible, from the ones that will help you to take notes to ones that help you to manage your projects.

A great project management app is Asana but another must-have app for the busy lawyer is a call recording device (learn more here) as this will help you to keep track of conversations without having to write things down.

File Storage

Another thing you’ll need to manage is all of the documents that get sent to you, and these can soon clog up your computer if you’re not careful. That’s why it’s a good idea to get some cloud file storage. Which will provide you with one central place where you can manage all your essential documents. A great example of this is Dropbox, as it’ll allow you to access your files from a number of different devices, meaning your documents are with you at all times. It even gives you the option of adding other users to a certain file so they can download or edit it.

Passwords

Because many of these apps will require passwords. It can get a little bit confusing as to what password belongs to what app. However, thankfully, there’s an app (or two) for that! There are a number of apps which have been designed to keep your passwords safe. But without you having to know each and every one. Instead, you just have to remember one master password to access the app. You can also store credit card info, login details and so on. A great example of this is LastPass, which is available on your PC and Mac.

With so many choices available, it can be a little intimidating when you’re downloading all of these different apps, but it needn’t be. Trial a few out and see if they work for you, and you may be surprised at how easy it is to become more organized!
